I live in Marin County, California, surrounded by incredible beauty and beings. Thus my subject matter is frequently based on activities and people around the Bay Area, in particular surf culture and natural beauty. I am also drawn to places of spiritual renewal.
After many years of taking pictures with only my eyes or my smartphone, my passion for shooting nature with ILC mirrorless cameras started on a winter trip to Yellowstone to photograph grey wolves with a naturalist/photographer friend. Shortly after that, I fell in love with documentary style portrait photography as an artistic tool to support social action, when I accompanied a film crew documenting the plight of a small town in the Central Valley which had completely run out of water.
I want to connect with you through images that open my heart, inspire new dreams, stimulate human connection and invite peaceful contemplation.
I appreciate your interest in my work and welcome any feedback, questions, advice or desire to collaborate.
With gratitude,
Greg Ostroff
