Climate Refugees
Beginning in 2014, the residents of East Porterville, in California's Central Valley, suddenly ran out of water!! When their wells ran dry, inter-governmental fighting left them completely on their own, so they self organized. In 2016, I accompanied the film crew of VOTE FOR HOME, which told their plight and led viewers to take supportive take action through empowered voting. In 2017, East Porterville had running water again! This episode feels like a 'canary in a coal mine' and we must all work together and take action to insure community resilience and committed government support for climate change action!
